Hon. Andy Olihi Ogbu, an eminently
qualified Chairmanship aspirant under the platform of People Democratic Party
(PDP) is a seasoned technocrat, an enthusiast, a democrat and a thorough-breed
personality who roots his philosophy of life on humility, open-door policy,
communal ties and humanitarian services. No wonder, he is very popular both at

knowledge of the masses’ needs must lead the Local Government to guarantee
reformation, transformation and sustainable development. This is the rationale
behind his candidacy as the utmost interest of the people; where Andy Ogbu
holds sway and influence. Many voters hypothesised that he will effortlessly
brings positive changes to the grassroot with awesome experience and dexterity.
On the basis of passed sterling
records, as part of his innate humanitarian services to humanity, the people of
Oju in particular, Hon Andy Olihi has in no small way contributed through
rendering assistance to cement dealers in Oju; the effort which has been his
age-long tradition as one of the ways he envisioned to empower his people if
given the mandate.
Who actually is Andy Olihi Ogbu?
Andy Olihi Ogbu, an administrator
par excellence is an aspirant for 2020 Oju Chairmanship slot. He hails from
Oboru/Oye Council Ward, to be precised, an origin of the ancestral root of
Uloko Oboru where the analytical zoning formula of the Chairmanship tilts in
favour.
Having seen the need for acquisition
of Western education as a veritable tool for man's liberating from shackles of
ignorance to realms of illuminating candlelight, he enrolled for his Primary Education
at LGEA Pilot Primary School, Oho Oboru in 1983 where he bagged his First
School Leaving Certificate in 1988.
Without much time wasting, he sought
for and gained admission in 1991 into the Government Secondary School, Ikachi
and however transfered to St. Joseph's Secondary School, Ito where he completed
his secondary education programme in 1996 with flying colours.
Andy Olihi recognises that knowledge
is the candle light of the society, so among other things, he commits his
youthful life to education. In this, he proceeded to the Benue State
Polytechnic, Ugbokolo where in 2009, he obtained National Diploma in Computer
Science (Data Processing and Programming), and Higher National Diploma in
Business Administration in 2010 respectively.
With this cognate experience, one of
the agenda in Hon Andy Olihi's political manifesto involves accountability
projects; and development of guidelines for enabling grassroot citizens to use
information technology to track local government expenditure and ensure that
public funds are being used for their intended purpose.
Not satisfied, recently, he obtained
his Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science from the University of Mkar; and
currently pursing his Master in Computer/Statistics in the same
University of Mkar.
To put into practice the accumulated
knowledge acquired from classrooms over the years, Andy Olihi secured job
opportunity with Total Facilities Management, Wuse II, Abuja where he served
between 2000 and 2004. In struggles for a more conducive environment, he joined
Dangote Group of Companies from 2005 till date as an Authority To Collect
Officer (ATC) under Sales and Marketing Department. ICT related duties are also
handled in his Department.
He received many awards and
accolades of outstanding performance. One of which is the recent award of 'Long
Service Award' by Dangote Cement PLC in appreciation and recognition of his
dedication and meritorious services to the company.
Andy Olihi married and blessed with
children.
In his service to the nation, he is
a kind administrator who lives up to his words and expectations. As a result,
the majority of his followers describe him as a saviour, counselor and mentor
who meets the needs of the people with prompts. This is why the people of
Oboru/Oye and beyond say that they need him in a higher position where he can
extend more of his helping hands to humanity.
Andy Olihi Ogbu has kind attention
to the yearnings of the Oju LGC at length and breadth and is determined to turn
around its fortunes in the agricultural sector, generate income, youth
development and contribute immensely to improved welfare of the people.
He travelled length and breadth of
the nation, and has seen developments in many parts which eluded Igedeland,
hence, Andy emerges as a saviour to restore and bring development to doorsteps
of the people. If given the mandate, Hon Andy Olihi's membership of Dangote
groups would be an added advantage to influence projects for the betterment of
Oju. His previous relationship ties with masses show that he is a selfless
individual; and a leader with creed and devoid of greed.
Andy's overwhelming capacity,
exposures and skills has made him more conspicuous among other constants and he
is seen as the main contender and a man to beat others. He has the capacity to
