Veterans Day Parade. (Rear Left, Helmet)
Hello, my name is Michael Guyton and this is the blog I am writing for my college English class, though I have always wanted to have a blog or website like this so I am very excited to begin! I will be writing about armed conflict, the history behind major battles, famous leaders, heroic actions, tactics, propaganda, and the politics behind some of the most well known (and not so well known) conflicts in history. Some posts will be my personal opinions on decisions and politics, and I even hope to have veteran interviews and accounts from all aspects of service. My goal for this blog is not only to write about history, but to bring it to life. I plan to use images, videos, quotes, and diagrams to fully express the topics being discussed. I also hope to make history easily accessible for everyone, you don't need to be a historian to read and enjoy. If you are a fan of history, politics, or stories then you will hopefully find what you are looking for in this blog. I will discuss conflicts, events, and groups ranging from the Roman Legion to the Rhodesian Bush War. There will be pictures of the events and people I am referencing as well as audio and video from interviews and historical footage. I invite you to come along with me through this journey into history, whether you are an avid fan of history or just beginning. Hopefully we can all learn about some of the most influential people and even those who may be sometimes overlooked.

About myself,
Local Historical Event. (Front, No Hat)
I am a college student who has a passion for all things history. I have recently begun participating in historical re-enactments, living history events, etc. and have quickly developed a passion for it. I have a growing collection of historical memorabilia and books and am always on the search for more. My goal is to work in and with museums, as well as participating or hosting re-enactments and historical events. I enjoy windsurfing and have begun to try my hand at scale modeling.
