DAY FIVE: Tuesday 1 August
Today school started for us at 8am and the students of Niue Primary School participate in a Bible in Schools programme led by Rev Navy and other church leaders and teachers. Students have bible lessons on Thursdays until 8:45am and during this time teachers are released so this was an awesome time for Mrs Mulipola to provide the second of our PLD sessions for the Teachers at Niue Primary and ECE - "The Impact of Student Voice on Planning and Assessment".

At 9am our very own Mr and Mrs Sagote led the whole school and staff in some very enjoyable "Zumba". They absolutely loved it and really appreciated something new in their programme.

At the same time Mr Vasau and Mrs Mulipola went over to Niue High School and met with the Principal - Mr Charle Ioane and the Intermediate Teachers. After a good Talanoa it was agreed that we will return tomorrow and provide some PLD for them on "Student Voice and Teaching and Learning in Reading and Writing".

One highlight of today was seeing the Niue Police department spending time with the students running a programme on keeping themselves safe in an emergency or during a natural disaster. The students related well to the police officers and they used a mixture of English and Niuean to get the messages across.

After school we then split the staff into two groups and Miss Ngatuakana, Miss Manuele and Miss Fuataga presented on the features of an "Effective Reading Programme" to the ECE - Year 3 teachers and Mr Ikitule and Mrs Sagote presented the same to the Year 4-6 teachers. From the interaction and the feedback we got after the sessions this was positively received.
